Paraphrase with Tim Berne, reeds; Tom Rainey, drums; Drew Gress, bass. Multi-reedist Berne is known for his powerful improvisation, while drummer Rainey hasn't met a rhythm from which he can't extract melodic protein. Together, with well-known sideman bassist Gress, this trio will conjure musical patterns from thin air.

Buckner and Kubera Play Ives
Baritone Thomas Buckner will perform concert of all Charles Ives compositions, accompanied by Joseph Kubera on piano. Thomas Buckner has revitalized America's vocal tradition by captivating audiences with his performances of newly commissioned works and of twentieth century masters. His long-time partnership with Joseph Kubera, also a renowned interpreter of contemporary music, continues to produce extraordinary concerts that audienced do not soon forget.

Special Lecture about composer Charles Ives by Mitchell Morris, Ph.D. precedes concert at 7 p.m.
