Saadet Türköz with Eyvind Kang
Saadet Türköz is an extraordinary vocalist who specializes in Central Asian and Turkish repertoire, as well as improvised and experimental music. Violist Eyvind Kang has released several CDs of his own music, including the acclaimed "The Story of Iceland" as well as worked with many well respected musicians, including Bill Frisell, Arto Lindsay and Laurie Anderson. The purity and integrity of their respective sounds, the inner power of Saadet's voice and the resonance of Kang's viola, make their collaboration an intensely rewarding experience. Saadet performed solo at Spruce Street Forum last February, and they have performed together on numerous occasions in both Canada and the United States. This occasion marks their first performance together in San Diego.
