Satoko Fujii Quartet
Led by Japanese woman composer/pianist Satoko Fujii, the Satoko Fujii Quartet marks a dramatic extension into the realms of avant-garde rock and freestyle jazz. The concert will be intellectual, noisy, and, best of all, fun. Her colleagues include trumpeter husband Natsuki Tamara, rock-drummer Tatsuya Yoshida, and Takeharu Hayakawa on electric bass.

Scott Fields Ensemble
Scott Fields (guitar) George Cremaschi (bass) Garth Powell (percussion). On this California tour the Scott Fields Ensemble wll be concentrating on music from the "Mamet" and "this that" CDs. These compositions all provide structure and space from improvisation. The Mamet compositions are programmatic in that they mimic the actions and structures of five David Mamet plays in addition to echoing the speech patterns of the dialog in the music's rhythms.

The group has attracted a dedicated following in their native NYC through a series of concerts that incorporate electrifying music and mesmerizing performance effects.
