Satoko Fujii Quartet
Led by Japanese woman composer/pianist Satoko Fujii, the Satoko Fujii Quartet marks a dramatic extension into the realms of avant-garde rock and freestyle jazz. The concert will be intellectual, noisy, and, best of all, fun. Her colleagues include trumpeter husband Natsuki Tamara, rock-drummer Tatsuya Yoshida, and Takeharu Hayakawa on electric bass.

Scott Fields Ensemble
Scott Fields (guitar) George Cremaschi (bass) Garth Powell (percussion).
On this California tour the Scott Fields Ensemble wll be concentrating on music from the
"Mamet" and "this that" CDs. These compositions all provide structure and
space from improvisation. The Mamet compositions are programmatic in that
they mimic the actions and structures of five David Mamet plays in addition
to echoing the speech patterns of the dialog in the music's rhythms.

Matmos
Matmos , experimental electronica from San Francisco - M.C. Schmidt and Drew Daniel. "Nobody combines improvisation and a rigorous conceptual approach, an almost scientific found sound obsession and a highly developed gut feeling for rhythm and bass to such exciting--and accessible--results as Matmos," says Herbert Struyf, Ultra E:Zine. Most recently, Matmos has been on a world tour with Björk.
