JUNKYARD [Frontier Life] is a multidisciplinary art event, where the different media of video, music, dance, visual arts and installations are intertwined, bringing together talent from both sides of the border in an effort to construct new sensations and visions of the beautiful and chaotic border region that is Tijuana / San Diego.

Trevor Watts Moire Music Trio
Trevor Watts, saxophones; Colin McKenzie, bass; Giampaolo Scatozza, percussion. Watts brings with him a profound history of the British music scene from the '60s improvisational group Spontaneous Music Ensemble to work with jazz stalwarts Steve Lacy and Bobby Bradford. McKenzie's work with pop singer Billy Ocean and rock/guitar innovator Jeff Beck has earned him recognition on the world stage. Scatozza triangulates the trio with depth and versatility.

Jeanrenaud/Masaoka/Ochs
Joan Jeanrenaud, cello; Miya Masaoko, koto; and Larry Ochs, saxophone. Here are three masters in the field of improvisation whose playing may only be matched by their impressive credentials. Jeanrenaud was cellist with the groundbreaking Kronos Quartet for twenty years. Masaoka's koto has graced the work of important contemporary musicians such as Steve Coleman, Fred Firth, and Omette Coleman. Ochs is best known as a member of the renowned Rova Sax Quartet.
